Hello, I’m Humberto, and welcome to Heimwee Antiques.

My addiction for antiques led me to a relentless pursuit of finding objects that speak to me. Like a bloodhound tracking a scent. Once found, I cherish them for a while and then find them a good home.

“Heimwee” is a Dutch word that loosely translates to homesick, but it carries more poetry than that. It’s the feeling of missing the texture of your old dresser, the squeaky rocking chair by the front porch, the little figure on the shelf that greets you every morning like an old friend. When you miss home, you are not just missing family, you are missing the things that quietly make that space yours.

I like to think of them as old objects of desire, not because they carry some grand importance or value, but because they have a way of summoning you. You can’t always explain it, but somehow, something in you lights up, and before you know it, you are completely taken, totally attracted to something you had no idea existed two seconds ago.

I’m based in San Francisco, running an online shop and sourcing for private clients. You can find me exhibiting at shows like the Nameless Art + Design Show, the All American Collector’s Show, the Taconic Antiques Fair, and the Found Object Show.
